University of the West
Founded by the leader of one of the largest Buddhist organizations on the planet, the University of the West is a liberal arts college that blends western-style education with Buddhist wisdom. UWest offers four undergraduate programs in Liberal Arts, English, Psychology, and Business as well as graduate training in Buddhist Chaplaincy. As a measure of the campus’ diversity, UWest’s enrollment is made up of students from 44 countries. To provide a quiet space throughout the school year, UWest’s campus features a Meditation Center and Buddhist Shrine and students are encouraged to meditate at numerous quiet spots throughout the university.
