The University of Puerto Rico-Utuado is a public university and a regional campus of the UPR system in central Puerto Rico. Dedicated to serving the educational needs of the surrounding rural communities, UPRU is home to five academic departments offering bachelor’s and associate degrees. Throughout the year, UPRU schedules a number of all-campus cultural activities from singing festivals to art exhibitions. For athletically inclined students, UPRU fields 16 men’s and women’s athletic teams competing in the Interuniversity Athletic League.
