Founded in 1886, The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is a public Historically Black College and University in southeast Maryland. UMES is home to schools of Business, Natural Sciences, Education, and Health Professions conferring undergrad degrees and certificates in 60 fields of study. Outside of the classroom, UMES fields men’s and women’s golf teams and is the only HBCU to be accredited by the PGA. Throughout the year, UMES schedules a number of all-campus activities including a Black History Month Assembly and Springfest.
