University of Georgia
The University of Georgia is a land- and sea-grant public research university in Athens, GA. Founded in 1785, University of Georgia is one of three public universities to hold the title of the oldest public university in the US. With 17 different schools and three extended campus sites in Gwinnett, Griffin, and Tifton, the university offers more than 170 degrees and a number of centers and institutes with studies ranging from poultry diagnostics and research to bioinformatics to the Georgia Initiative for Climate & Society. This Public Ivy also is responsible for presenting the prestigious Peabody Award for electronic media through The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.
