Founded in 1961 by three Texas Instruments executives, the University of Texas at Dallas is a 4-year public institution in the Dallas metro area and a campus of the UT system. UT Dallas encompasses eight schools granting degrees in over 140 fields of study. Additionally, the university is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Science. For sports fans, UT Dallas is home to 13 men’s and women’s athletic teams as well as a coed esports squad.
