In three sentences | I Love the diversity The library is the best place to go for academic help with studies. Picking my own classes that suite my major helps a lot. |
Tips for prospective students | Apply even if your not 100% sure visit if that helps you to change your mind. |
Academic Rigor | I personally love the small class environment. Haven't actually been in a class that was really large so that's good for those who like the attention in the class where the professor will notice you attend cobleskill. Professors are very understanding and they work with you whenever you need the help and they have office hours that helps a lot. |
Dorm Life | Just the set-up is so weird and i personally don't like it. All the money i pay for my attendance is not worth what the freshman dorms look like. |
Food and Dining | I rate it a 4/5.. Why because its good when you first try it of course they switch up the meals here and there but after awhile you get tired of the food.Be careful for freshman 15 / |
What to do for fun | Having the chance to actually be off campus using your school id bus pass to go to Albany mall, parties off campus, restaurants in town , Just being off campus period is fun or just another great experience. Being on campus there is something everyday going on so you will never be bored. |
Clubs and Activities | Good amount to choose from. I'm on the cheer leading team and that is going pretty well so far :) |
Greek Life | It's just a long process but it's pretty good from what I've seen. Can't really speak much of it because i haven't pledged. |
Campus Safety | Great UPD is on a 24/7 watch |

In three sentences | SUNY Cobleskill is a great school and gives students great opportunities. It is a very diverse school but the least judgmental place that I've ever been in my life. People are very friendly and the teachers are wonderful. |
Tips for prospective students | This school is an agricultural school. Therefore, it's a lot of farm. If you are looking for a big city school, this isn't the school for you. The classes are small and the teachers are wonderful! |
Academic Rigor | The Academic's at Cobleskill are wonderful. The advisers make everything very clear and help you go down the right path that you are interested in. |
Dorm Life | At Cobleskill dorm rooms are kind of small but it is college, so you shouldn't expect huge rooms. Some dorm rooms have bigger rooms then others but the RA's and RD's make the experience wonderful. |
Food and Dining | Prentice and Hodder are my two favorite places to eat. Champlin is more of a buffet style. It really just depends on what kind of foods you are interested in. |
What to do for fun | There are lots of clubs and there are always comedians and movies to watch on campus. If you have nothing to do, there is a rec center in each dorm room and plenty of friends you can make within walking distance! |
Bang for the buck | I mean college these days is pretty expensive but Cobleskill's expenses is well worth it. You get a good education for a decent price. |
Great for these types of students | This school is great for agricultural students but also has a great early childhood education program! |
Campus Safety | The UPD is out at all times and they are always willing to help a person in need! |

In three sentences | SUNY Cobleskill is a well rounded school. It is are committed to making the best out of its students with the supplies and resources it has. The school cares about students education (academics), safety (residence halls), exploration (different clubs) and many other aspects. |
Tips for prospective students | The school itself isn't as big as other SUNY schools, and it has limited resources. However, the majority of the instructors are excellent, and make the best use out of the resources the school does have. Whenever you are unsure of something, don't hesitate to ask the instructor or even the tutors in the library. If you're having a problem with somebody in the building or on your floor go to the Resident Assistant or the Resident Director of the building. |
Academic Rigor | At the beginning of each semester, the teacher tells the students the syllabus. The majority of the time, the class sticks to the schedule. The instructors are usually there for the students in case they need help. If an instructor fails to come to class, the school finds a replacement and the class goes on. |
Dorm Life | The residence halls are safe and welcoming. There is a sense of community within the buildings. There are programs going on almost every night of the week. |
Food and Dining | There are a few different dining halls, which offer a semi-limited range of foods. The dining halls are starting to shift their menu to a more healthy and nutritional one. Any allergies or specific suggestions are taken into consideration. |
What to do for fun | During the week the Resident Assistants have programs that are either educational or community builders to bring people together. Also during the week there is a building called Brickyard Point that has a different activity going on each night of the week. |
Great for these types of students | SUNY Cobleskill is well known for Agriculture, working with John Deere. I would recommend students who want to seriously excel in Agriculture to come here. Business and Graphic Design are also two well known majors. |
Clubs and Activities | There is a wide range of clubs at SUNY Cobleskill. Whether it's culinary, outdoors, getting to know international students, or even archery, a long list is available and the school supports clubs greatly. |
Greek Life | Greek Life isn't recognized by the school. Any sororities or fraternities that are available are all underground. |
Campus Safety | The school is extremely safe, there are emergency poles in several different places on campus. UPD (University Police Department) is always around in case anything happens, even if it's late at night and somebody doesn't want to walk alone, they can ask UPD to accompany them. The walkways are well lit at night as well. |
