Hawaii or, as natives spell it, Hawai’i, is an archipelago of islands in the Central Pacific ocean and was the last state to be added to the US, in 1959. The tropical climate persists year round, but there are two seasons: dry, from May to October, and wet, from October to April. Colleges in Hawaii are predominantly either community colleges or public universities, the University of Hawaii having four locations. Hawaii also has two special-focus institutions, both for medicine.
Tourism and agriculture are top industries for Hawaii, and prominent attractions include the Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park and Diamond Head.
