Colleges in Georgia
Georgia is located in the southern region of the US and is otherwise known as the “Peach State.” The capital, Atlanta, is an integral cog in the global economic system and is home to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest airport. When it comes to colleges in Georgia, there are an array of public and private institutions, a number of which have liberal arts curricula. The University System of Georgia has 26 public institutions and all attending students are eligible for Georgia’s unique HOPE Scholarships. The Technical College System of Georgia operates 22 technical colleges.
The Peach State claims one of the three oldest public universities, the University of Georgia, having been the first created by state charter in 1785. On top of that, Georgia also has the Savannah Historic District, CDC Museum, and Center for Civil and Human Rights.
