The Southern College of Optometry is an optometry school in Memphis training students for careers in the eyecare field. SCO offers a 4-year Doctor of Optometry program featuring 32 residency programs—the most of any optometry school in the United States. Students in the doctorate program participate in clinical experience at The Eye Center, North America’s largest ocular health care facility. In addition to coursework, SCO students provide community service through a number of initiatives including vision screenings and remote area medical care throughout the Appalachian region.
