This college is cost effective. I also feel safe, wherever I go I know I am safe. St. Johns also keeps me organized, they send emails out if I am missing things and will let me know what I need.
Tips for prospective students
Read your syllabus, check e-mails regularly, you will recieve emails from professors and they will expect you to check them since they will be very important documents/information such as homework, test days, changes to the syllabus, etc. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
Academic Rigor
Academic rigor will depend on which type of classes you choose. It also depends on the type of person you are, for example, if you like writting then Comp I will be one of your favorite classes. Just try to do your absolute best in every class you decide.
Dorm Life
This college does not have dorms.
Food and Dining
They have a cafeteria, I personally have not bought anything there yet. But from what I have heard, they have good food.
What to do for fun
They have extra-curricular activities, if you are in to them. I suggest you try them out!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
This college has a pool table, a place to play ping pong, you can watch TV and play video games, if you are into that. Very cool and fun things to do when you are waiting for classes to start.
Great for these types of students
If you like small classes, then this is the school for you!
Campus Safety
There are security guards on campus 24/7. There is no need to feel un-safe, but if you do there are emergency locations. All you have to do is push that button and a security guard will be there shortly.

I love the small class atmosphere. I am at the satellite campus in Orange Park and the campus is small but big enough to give me choices in classes. Their instructors are have strong qualifications in their discipline.
Academic Rigor
Difficult, but manageable.

Am learning a lot
If you want a college experience that allows you to get the attention and help that you need in the classroom, this college would be perfect for you! All of the classes are pretty small; therefore, if you need extra help on a subject the professors are willing to take some extra time and help you until you understand what it is they are teaching. Also, they have tutors at the campus to help you with certain subjects such as math, and they have flexible hours too so they can be there for you when you need them.
Am enjoying being here
I enjoy attending St. Johns River Community College because of the friendly people that attend there. The students are courteous to another, and the teachers are kind as well. Not to mention there is always something going on at the campus, whether it be a cook out or a Halloween party.
Bang for the buck
When it comes to paying for classes, St. Johns River Community College is not as bad as a university. It is a little pricey, but not when you consider everything that you are getting for the price that you are paying.
Tips for prospective students
Some tips that I would give prospective students is to make sure that you check your school email, becuase sometimes teachers will cancel classes and will post that the classes are cancelled to your email; therefore, you will not have to waste gas driving to school only to drive back home because class was cancelled for what ever reason that day. Another tip that I would give prospective students is to make sure that they get a parking decal, so that way they will not be fined.
Great for these types of students
St. Johns River Community College is great for students who enjoy small to normal sized classes, and who want to get an excellent learning experience.

SJRSC faculty has been very warm and willing to share informational with me. I came to the school unfamiliar with the way college works, with how to use my government aid, with how to register for classes, etc. Mr. Steve Kenney in the VA office has gone over the top to assist me and so have the rest of the team members in building A. I have had nothing but wonderful professors (by help of rate my professor), but nonetheless I have enjoyed my time at this local and affordable (comparatively speaking) college.
Tips for prospective students
Sign up for classes as early as possible and take advantage of your FAFSA benefits.
Academic Rigor
The college has a faculty and staff that promotes academic integrity while giving you a surplus volume of resources with which to succeed.
Dorm Life
There are no dorms so you live at home, or on your own, it is what you make it.
Food and Dining
No cafeteria or anything but students do not live on campus so this is understandable. There are vending machines scattered about though and events with food now and again.
What to do for fun
Join a club.
Read or use computers in the library.
Go to the beach.
Visit a spring.
Go cosmic bowling with friends.
Bang for the buck
Affordable (for college)
Welcoming
Informative
Good location
Interactive teachers
Great for these types of students
Not financially wealthy
Campus Safety
Security officers roaming on site.
Light poles have emergency contact potential at the touch of a button.
