Originally conceived as a training facility for the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music is a music academy in San Juan. CMPR offers bachelor’s degree programs in Composition, Music Education, and Music Performance with six vocal and instrumental concentrations. In addition to academic coursework, all students are required to participate in CMPR ensemble of their choosing, such as the Conservatory Concert Band and Camerata Caribe chamber music ensemble. The CMPR campus includes a 400-seat concert hall and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
