Am learning a lot
Being that Pfeiffer is such a small school, students really connect well with their professors. The classroom sizes are typically small which adds to the one-on-one learning environment. I am a rising sophomore and have yet to have a class with more than 20 students. Most of my teachers here offer very flexible office hours to further help students with any questions they may have pertaining to the class materials. However, if further assistance is needed there is a great Learning Center provided by the university that provides students with tutors.
Am enjoying being here
I have to emphasize once again that the campus is small and not much is near it. It will really help to have a car on campus because campus life can get pretty dry but there are a few places in the surrounding areas that are cool for hang-outs with friends. However, most of these places range from 30minutes to one hour in driving distances.
Bang for the buck
Being that Pfeiffer is a private school, tuition is higher; however, financial aid here is really great especially if you play sports or are affiliated with the Methodist church. I am neither an athlete or a member of the Methodist church but still received a great financial aid award. It really helps to keep your grades at a least a 3.0 or above and participate around the campus.
Tips for prospective students
If you are planning to attend Pfeiffer, you must prepare yourself for a very quite lifestyle. Pfeiffer is a very small private Christian School. It barely has 1000 students but the staff members really connect with you and are more than willing to help any student out.
Great for these types of students
*Athletes
*Members of Methodist Church/Community
*Those students who are looking for a small and quite campus life

Tips for prospective students
i would recommend that you're willing to talk to people and ask for help. the staff is wonderful but, they can't help unless they know you have questions. not only is the staff able to help but, use your friends too, form study groups its very helpful.
What to do for fun
there is a lake right next to campus along with the big charlotte city with plenty of clubs or malls to go check out.
Bang for the buck
the campus may not look amazing, and its out in the middle of no where but, you will learn to love it. the people are amazing and extremely helpful.
Campus Safety
the police are always on campus making rounds but, at the same time don't interfere with your privacy making it a very safe campus to be on.

Pfeiffer is such a small school, so students get to really connect well with their professors. The classroom sizes are typically small which gives students a one-on-one learning environment. Most of the professors here have very flexible office hours to help students with any questions they may have. You have to take many general education requirement classes as well to graduate so you learn a lot outside of your major. We have a learning center that is free to students. This gives students tutors and just help in subjects/classes if needed.
Am enjoying being here
Yes, this campus is small and kind of far from a lot of things, but Pfeiffer always finds activities for the students to do. I am a freshman this year and some activities are we have had a fiesta, dances, haunted trail, bonfire, roller skating party, and many sporting events to attend. This is just to name a few. We also have opportunities to go hiking, camping, and white water rafting. Yes, Pfeiffer may be like 20-30 min. from some things there is always things to do on campus. A car would be helpful, but not necessary. So many people have cars on campus you can just catch a ride with them.
Bang for the buck
Yes, Pfeiffer is a private school so tuition is a little more, but the financial aid here is awesome. If you play a sport here or are affiliated with the Methodist church you will probably receive a good scholarship to attend. You do not need to be part of either of these those. If you have done community service or just had a good GPA in high school they will find you some money to help you as well. Pfeiffer University will help you in any way to find you money so you can attend. They are very helpful.

Pfeiffer University is a great school for the working Adult. It certainly works for me. However as with any distant learning student it has it disadvantages. Timely responses from all concerned is very important to the student because it is the only means of communication.
Am enjoying being here
The interaction with fellow classmates is great. Discussion Board is the best thing ever.
Tips for prospective students
Prosective studenst need to be sincere about their future with training for the workplace, and have a desire to learn.
Great for these types of students
This is a great school for Adults who are full-time workers and would like to return to school.

Pfeiffer is a small community that allows for big opportunities while fostering a feeling of home and family. The professors care about not only your education, but you as a person, and are more than willing to work to get you to where you want to be. Pfeiffer is home.
Tips for prospective students
Pfeiffer is what you make of it. If you complain and whine about having to do the work, you won't get the most out of your time here. But, if you work at it, get to know faculty who can help, and create relationships with other students on campus, you can easily make this home.
Academic Rigor
Depends on the course. Your general education classes can be a little redundant, but once you get into the specialized classes, the work can pile up and increase in difficulty. There are ways to get help when needed, however.
Dorm Life
There are many housing options. The communities in the dorms vary from year to year, but there is a common factor-you create friendships that can last a lifetime. The housekeepers are always nice and keep things as clean as they can. RA's do the best they can and make sure everything is going well.
Food and Dining
The food depends on who is cooking that day. Some workers do certain things better than others. The food is always edible, and they do have some amazing options. The workers are always nice and try to learn the names of those they interact with. Be nice to them, and they'll look out for you when you want the good food.
What to do for fun
There are a lot of organizations that keep the weekends lively. There's always some event or another to get dragged into. If there's nothing on campus, we aren't too far away from some bigger cities that have things going on.
Bang for the buck
Although many students get scholarships here, for those who don't, it is still well worth the money. You create connections and opportunities that extend well beyond the four years you spend in Misenheimer.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
Don't step on the seal in the student center. If you do, you have a minute to run across the street and the traintracks to touch the lucky sundial. If you don't touch it in time, you won't graduate on time.
Great for these types of students
Those who want to foster a close relationship with professors, or want to meet people from multiple different countries. Also for those who are willing to work to get where they want after graduation.
Clubs and Activities
There is always something going on. Students make sure that there is an event that kids can go to, whether it be an official school-sanctioned event or something a little less structured.
Greek Life
We don't have Greek life.
Campus Safety
The campus is small and in a small area. We have campus security and the Misenheimer police patrolling not only around campus, but in the dorms themselves occasionally. We are always kept up to speed if there is anything wrong, although that is extremely rare. I have never felt threatened at Pfeiffer.
