What Students Are Saying

If you didn't have to work hard or study in high school, all of that changes in college. Come in with a bang. If you don't do well your freshman year, you are going to have to spend the following three years pulling your GPA up. That will not be fun.
Kelcie from Madison, AL
Those planning on attending Oakwood University should come prepared to be immersed in not just a school but a family. Random conversations with strangers which transform to close friends may occur. Dinners at professors homes is also not uncommon. A higher level of academic as well as personal growth is also within the view of future students.
Amanda from Atlanta, GA
Make sure your financial aid is complete and be sure to have a paper trail of all of your documents, just to be sure your term at Oakwood is smooth! Also, get rid of negativity and have an open mind! You'll see what I mean when you attend!
DeMeatria from Whiteville, NC
New and transfer students attending Oakwood this fall, I highly recommend that you all actually take the time to study for your classes. During my first semester I found myself distracted, thus causing me to procrastinate a lot. Although my grades never dropped below a C, I knew that I could do a whole lot better than what I was doing. My second semester I took much more time with my studying and managed to get my GPA up. And besides, there could be nothing worst than spending YOUR summer retaking classes you slacked in, not to mention the money it will cost your parents!
Camilla from Huntsville, AL
Students interested in attending Oakwood must:
Be determined to:
*hit-the-books
*join academic groups related to your major
*organize your priorities on a daily basis as this is a school that is very social.
Julian from Berrien Springs, MI
I recommend that you go through the college days experience. This told me a lot.
Daniel from Madison, MS
