Northwestern Michigan College is a public, 2-year institution located in Traverse City with five campuses throughout the Grand Traverse region. On top of numerous associate degrees, NMC also offers bachelor's degrees in maritime and marine technology. The college's main Front Street Campus houses most academic buildings and two residence halls, and is also home to the Dennos Museum Center with its signature Inuit art collection and the WNMC 90.7 FM Community Radio station. The Great Lakes Campus on the shores of Grand Traverse Bay is home to the Great Lakes Maritime Academy, Great Lakes Culinary Institute and Lobdell's teaching restaurant, as well as the Hagerty Conference Center. NMC's Aviation, UAS, Automotive, Construction and other programs are located at the Aero Park Campus. And NMC University Center partners including Davenport University, Grand Valley State University and Michigan State University confer bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Rogers Observatory, the site of NMC's Astronomy program, is five miles south of the main campus and frequently opens for public viewings.
