In three sentences | Martin Community College is a small college, so there's no huge clutters/crowds. The professors I've met seemed very friendly and down-to-earth people willing to help you. The Registrar's Office was extremely helpful. |
Academic Rigor | As I said, the Professors are definitely here to help you, they'll get you where you to be, just make sure you meet them halfway. It's your degree, they've already got theirs. |
Dorm Life | There are no dorms on-campus, the closest thing to Dorms is a trailer park down NC Highway 125 South called Big Apple Farms for the Equine students. The people there right now are kind of strange though, bless their hearts. Unless you're taking online classes, you'll need to find a place in Williamston to stay, which can be expensive. |
Food and Dining | The school has a fairly nice little cafeteria area. You can actually work at it while you're attending school. It's a bit pricey, but here in Williamston, there's plenty of places to eat. Fast Food (McDonald's, Burger King, Dairy Queen, Sonic, Hardee's, KFC, Taco Bell, Bojangles, etc.), Chinese (Chopsticks, Fu Leen), Pizza (Domino's, Pizza Hut, Mama's Pizza), BBQ (Shaw's BBQ), you name it, we've got it. |
What to do for fun | Not a whole lot. There's a town 27.5 miles from here called Greenville, where East Carolina is, there's a lot of fun stuff to do there, they have a mall and this little Laser Tag place, they have movie theaters, and there's way more places to eat over there. They've got Outback Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Applebee's, Sweetfrog Frozen Yogurt, like 2 or 3 Mcdonald's locations, a burger king, there's a lot of places to eat, restaurants are EVERYWHERE! If you're looking for fun, head over to Greenville. Be careful when you're driving over there, traffic can be hectic! |
Bang for the buck | For a North Carolina resident, tuition is only $1776 a year, that's not too bad. |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | We have a totem pole. I don't know what it's for, it's just a decoration. |
Great for these types of students | Students who want to be Veterinarians We have a Phlebotomy program & other Pre-Med for people who want to become Registered Nurses. |
Clubs and Activities | The Equine Program is top-notch. Very professional. Not what I'm attending for, but my mother attended this school for it and she said she enjoyed it, until a horse fell on her. She had a nasty concussion, but that was a few years ago, she's fine now. |
Greek Life | There is no Greek life here, sorry. |
Campus Safety | Campus is very small, so chances of anything out of the ordinary happening are slim, very slim. Like pin needle slim. |
