One of the first schools of osteopathic medicine in the United States, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences is a graduate-level medical school with campuses in Kansas City and Joplin, Missouri. As one of the largest med schools in the region, KCU provides the second-most physicians of any school in both Missouri and Kansas. KCU is comprised of the Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and Biosciences, which offer doctorates in Psychology and Osteopathic Medicine. Through KCU’s Score 1 for Health program, the university’s medical students provide free screenings for children from economically disadvantaged families in the area.
