Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.
Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

What Students Are Saying
Hampshire makes their system an expensive education for a number of reasons, but you really should take that as a motivator to work as hard as you can.
Eliza from Columbia, MD
For my entire life I have been looking for a school which I genuinely fit into. For the first time, I was able to find a place where I can be me. It is an exciting, invigorating feeling. I am not rich whatsoever. However, I believe that the education I will get at Hampshire will triumph over any money value. The people I have met already have impacted my life so dramatically. I found what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing. I am learning the way I want to. I choose what I am interested in. It is worth every penny.
David from East Windsor, CT
Hampshire College is a private school and is a bit pricey, but they have a huge endowment and lots of grant and scholarship offers and opprtunities. They have been very generous to me.
Kahari from Springfield, MA
Hampshire is truly for the alternative student. Traditional academia and traditional college life doesn't really exist here. And, if it does, it is with its proper Hampshire twist.
George from New York, NY
A great way to get an education, but the name value isn't entirely there.
Joshua from Huntington Woods, MI
