GLCC is really is a wonderful place to live and learn. The atmosphere is loving and encouraging and the professors are more than just authority figures. Everyone there really does want to help you grow and learn, in the field that you choose and in life.
Tips for prospective students
The College really does put an emphasis on servant leadership: leading with humility. Internalize that and don't be intimidated by any of the professors, you might get invited to dinner!
What to do for fun
There's all sorts of places nearby, and cheap too. On campus there's always some sort of activity, or bible study, or music group, or mattress sledding in the winter.

Mattress sledding in the winter, down the hill either right by the women's dorm or by the Doty. There's also Senior Skip Day every year, which is a lot different than what you might expect. The Seniors raise money and put together a day of fun for all of the students; it always comes with a day off from class. And don't forget the Bash every year. There's no dancing allowed, there can however, be spontaneous rhythmic choreography! ;)
Great for these types of students
This campus is really perfect for people who were homeschooled and anyone ever identified as a nerd, and expecially anyone with a want to use their musical abilities!
Clubs and Activities
There are multiple music groups that play in chapel on Tuesday, a choir, various other music groups that you can join, as well as soccer, volleyball, and basketball teams.

Great Lakes Christian College is the place to go if you want to further your faith and receive an excellent education. I have been attending for three semesters and do not feel as if any other school compares to the professionalism and courtesy that the professors and students exhibit. This school is the place to be if you want to grow and challenge yourself spiritually and educationally.
Tips for prospective students
Show up to class on time and make sure you have the apporpriate items. Some professors have specific course note books that require blanks to be filled in as they give their lecture.
Academic Rigor
The classes can be challenging, but the professors are on top of that. Each professor has an open door policy and office hours posted so they can be there when they are needed. They're not just your professors, they're your mentors as well. They care enough to go out of their way and lend you the materials you need and take the time to explain them to you (in and out of class) so you can understand what they're teaching.
Dorm Life
Dorm life can be a little hectic at times, but it's something you'll get used too. You'll learn after your first few weeks that college students don't sleep like normal people. We tend to be up all hours through the night and then crash when our workload is done.
Food and Dining
The food here is pretty good, breakfast is the meal you don't want to miss.
What to do for fun
Lansing is a pretty good sized town with a lot of options. You have bowling, lazer tag, movies, restaurants, ext. Michigan State is one of the places where you can find a list of free concerts and activities to partake in on a weekly basis (conveniently located within 10-20 mins of the school)
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
We have all the men participate in No shave November and then have a facial hair themed dance after the month is over.
Great for these types of students
There are tons of restaurants and coffee shops located around campus for you to go out with small groups or individuals and get to know one another. There are also thousands of other activities for those feeling a little adventurous. For example: group of students here normally free climbs rock walls in one of the surrounding parks.
Clubs and Activities
Every RA has a small group with their section that meets on a weekly basis. They are there to encourage and support one another. They have a highland games challenge against other floors and the winner gets a sword painted with their colors and their flag (an animal that represents their floor) put on display for all to see in the main building.
Greek Life
No fraternities or sororities here
Campus Safety
Never had any problems with safety.
