What Students Are Saying
Become involved in activities that excite you. Be assertive in making friends because in college, no one is making you create a community for yourself. Get to school early enough to find a good parking spot, or any parking spot at that.
Christin from Suwanee, GA
It will feel like a review (for those of you who paid attention in high school) with some of the courses you take. Yet don't slack off just because you know the information. You can easily fall behind in class especially in college. Teachers don't give you scantrons, you will have to buy them from the vending machine (I know it's a bit much). All teachers aren't the same *key. Make friends, get involved, GPC ALWAYS have something going on so participate.
Gabrielle from Atlanta, GA
Get invovled! There are so many different organizations and clubs at GPC, there is bound to be one that fits. Employers take into account how a student is involved as well as academic performance.
Lydia from Duluth, GA
Stay on top of things, stay organized with dates. Go to class! You won't have massive lecture halls to hide in, the class sizes are very small. Make friends with the people around you, it makes things a lot easier. Keep an open mind when you talk to people. Your classmates are the most diverse you can imagine, ranging from age to ethnicity to background. Everyone has a story to tell, listen to them.
Rayana from Snellville, GA
Just because it is a 2 year college does not mean you can slack off. Its still college and it needs to be taken seriously.
Sara from Norcross, GA
If you want to save money and want to do well in school with out all the distractions of a large university, this is the place for you.
Anastasia from Alpharetta, GA
Join activities, get involved, make friends.
Deanna from Atlanta, GA
A few tips I would enjoy giving to prospective students is if you don't know the answer to a question you have, ask someone. There is always guidance out there you just have to take charge and obtain it. Attending Georgia Perimeter College, I have gained mentors that will be there for a life time. Just remember to come ready to learn, also stay focused, don't be afraid to network, ask many questions, and build professional relationships with your advisors and professors.
Brooklynn from Lithia Springs, GA
one of the most important tips i would give to prospective student will be, not to be late for school, study really hard, and make sure you have agenda.
Samir from Lawrnecville, GA
Apply early. Do not postpone any documents missing, and don't be afraid to ask for advice considering any questions you might have.
Francisco from Austell, GA
