Am learning a lot
I am learning a lot it especially in the history class I took in the spring. My professor was had a lot on knowledge about the subject and he enjoyed teaching.
Am enjoying being here
I love campus! Football games, basketball game! and a brand new rec center!
Bang for the buck
It's definitely a bang for your buck! The school is located in a college town! If you feel the town is a little to small you drive on the free way about 20 minutes and your in Spokane the second largest city in WA. If that's not enough about an hour away from Cheney is Idaho where there is a great theme park!
Tips for prospective students
Get involved! That is so important as a new student coming into the university! There as so many different types of people on campus it is basically impossible not to meet some people that you will not click with.

Great for these types of students
EWU is good for all types of students! Its really ideal for students that are looking for a university experience without spending a lot of money. If you are looking for one on one help or meeting with your professor Eastern has about 24:1 ratio in most classes so you will never have a problem talking to your professor and setting a meeting time if you need help.

So far, all of my professors have been amazing! They go over the course material in such a way that everyone in the class can understand what is being discussed and be able to apply what they have learned in practical settings.
Am enjoying being here
Since EWU is on the smaller side, you really get the individual attention that one would not be able to get from going to a larger college. I also love how beautiful and manicured the campus is. Also, if you need to get away for a bit, Spokane is only 20 minutes away.
Bang for the buck
I live a bit further away from Cheney, so I have a 40 minute commute. What I love about being a student at EWU is that you are able to ride the city transportation for free anytime you want. I love how clean and easy the bus system is because it saves me a lot of money not having to buy gas for my gas guzzler.
Tips for prospective students
Just be ready to become apart of the EWU family. The academic advisors are amazing, if you have any questions just give them a call and they can help you out.
Great for these types of students
EWU is great for all types of students. Even though we are small, we have quite a diverse population in both; ethnicity and career paths.

College is a whole new experience compared to high school! In and out of the classrooms you learn a lot about yourself, your new community, college, your favorite subjects, and new cultures! The professors here are great, and if you do happen to fall behind, there are many programs that are VERY helpful to get you back on track. And, of course, you can always pull a 4 hour study group with your closest friends in the enormous JFK library.
Am enjoying being here
Though Cheney is a little ways away from my home, the people here are amazing! Eastern is a smaller campus, so there is no way you can go from one class to another without passing at least three friends. The only downside for me is the snow during the winter, but you're almost always guaranteed at least ONE snow day per year! Though Cheney is small, you're only 30 minutes from Spokane, Washington's 2nd largest city!
Bang for the buck
Eastern has the cheapest tuition of any four year university in Washington state! Financial aid and scholarships have paid for most of my schooling, and your advisors are there to help make sure you stay on track to keep that money. Choosing Eastern was one of the smartest decisions I've made. I love the campus, the people, most of the professors, and the community!
Tips for prospective students
I remember most of my high school friends saying that they wanted to go to a big name college, one that was also big in size. The best thing about Eastern is that it's smaller. Every class is within 7 minutes of any place, and you get to know a lot more people. The classrooms are awesome and the campus is beautiful. If you visit, try imagining yourself as a student walking around and living here for 4 or more years. If you can see yourself here, and liking it, chances are Eastern is for you.
Great for these types of students
Eastern is perfect for anyone. While being here, I've seen so much diversity it's hard to say who this school is best for. If you are a human being who breathes air and wants to go to college, this place is perfect for you!

The teachers here are very good in most subjects. The classes are small and most teachers try and get to know there students. The teachers are also very involved in their work and are in their offices during office hours.
Am enjoying being here
Although Cheney is a small town, it is only fifteen miles away from Spokane. Eastern also has many on campus activities. These include intramural sports, NCAA sanctioned sporting events, movies, and other fun activities throughout the year. The new rec center also provides great opportunities to work off some stress by playing basketball, running, or lifting weights. The food here is also not bad which is always a plus.
Tips for prospective students
Eastern is not terribly expensive, but it has great academics and a good atmosphere. Eastern allows people to go to school and get a great education while not spending every last penny they have trying to get an education.
Great for these types of students
Students who like small class sizes, but doesn't want to go to a tiny college would fit in well at Eastern Washington University. Eastern is also good for people who like being in a smaller town, but being close enough to a big city to be able to visit it and spend time in the big city any day of the week.

The class sizes really help with learning the material. they're small enough to be able to ask questions in class, and have the teacher still hear you from way in the back. The teachers also want to make sure you understand where the concept they're teaching comes from, you they explain things thoroughly.
Am enjoying being here
I love Cheney, WA. It's a small town that is easily accessible with out needing to bring a car your first years here. However, if you do need something else to do, Spokane is 15 minutes away, and you can take the free bus with your EagleCard.
Bang for the buck
At Eastern, you're not paying as much as other big University's in the state, and you still get the true feeling of going away for college, and starting something big. However, staying in the dorms is great the first year, but it gets pricey after that. There are plenty of apartment complexes near, and many houses to rent with your friends for the next years to come.
Tips for prospective students
Apply for ANY/EVERY scholarship available, it's free money, and so much better than having to pay it back after college. Apply for jobs on-campus early. They're really flexible with your class schedule for each quarter, and on breaks. You will also have enough time in the day after work and classes to study, eat and chill.

Most definitely! I just finished my first quarter at Eastern, and my brain almost burst from all of the new information and concepts I learned. It feels great to learn so much.
Am enjoying being here
It's a nice campus and is not as intimidating as other 4 year universities. All of the professors I have had so far are extremely nice and sincerely want you to succeed. In addition, Eastern offers many different undergrad and grad programs to accommodate almost anyone.
Bang for the buck
The tuition is very inexpensive compared to most other universities and with your SID card, you can take the bus anywhere for free.
Tips for prospective students
Just apply and you'll most likely get accepted without a problem.
Great for these types of students
Great for students who want to attend college in a more quiet, rural setting. The campus is just the right size. In addition, Eastern is great for students who are tight on money and need to go somewhere where the cost of tuition is lower. Also, Eastern is a fairly easy college to get into, so you should have no problem getting accepted.

Just like with any other college experience, there are amazing teachers who are there to help you almost every day, and there are classes where the text book is a more useful resource than the prof. Overall though, it is a good learning experience. The class sizes are generally on the smaller side compared to some of the bigger state schools, allowing for you actually get to know your profs rather than just being a number. I can say with experience that the computer science program is wonderful. Many of the teachers have real world experience and can not only teach you the content, but can share their stories and job experiences.
Am enjoying being here
I am in my second year at EWU and greatly enjoy being here. It's located in the small town of Cheney, giving it a really legit college town feel, but at the same time is only about 15 min outside of Spokane, making weekend possibilities virtually endless. The prof's and staff are for the most part friendly and helpful. The only thing that may put a damper on it for some students is the winter. Being right outside of Spokane you can usually expect quite a bit of snow for most of the season.
Bang for the buck
EWU is cheaper than most of the bigger state schools, and easily cheaper than the private ones. I highly suggest not living in dorms after your freshman year though. There are lots of off campus options close to the school, that many times end up being cheaper than dorms and the expensive food plans they offer, if you can find a roommate. Overall though, EWU is a good choice if you're looking for a more affordable school.
Tips for prospective students
If you're moving from somewhere warmer or that doesn't get much snow, be prepared for the harsh winter. Boots are an absolute must. Also, be sure to participate and freshman orientation, as well as activities your dorm floor may hold. They make all the difference in helping you get socially adjusted.
Great for these types of students
Students who are looking for a *starter* college and considering transferring to a bigger one later on.
Students who are seeking a financially feasible college
Students who are looking for the small college, small town experience

There are plenty of great professors here. There are also lots of different options for classes and studies. Some of the classes i took (gecker wise) didn't have a lot to do with anything for my major but they were interesting.
Am enjoying being here
I love the feel of campus and seeing the squirrels just running around ignoring the people. The campus is very pretty too. It feels like a home should over here and there are plenty of great people to hang out with.
Bang for the buck
Eastern is pretty cheap and I feel like I am getting a great education and life experience here.
Tips for prospective students
The math program here is not the best so unless you have a handle on math going for a math major here is not ideal.
Great for these types of students
Science majors and music majors.

I've been attending for 2 quarters. So far, so good. Instructors at Riverpoint are awesome.
Tips for prospective students
It would've been better if instead of transferring from SFCC I wouldve got the Direct Transfer Agreement.
Academic Rigor
The Business degree classes are fun and exciting. That keeps it interesting and helps me maintain my 4.0.
Dorm Life
I dont live in the dorms.
Food and Dining
Coffee at the Riverpoint campus is alright and they have good sandwiches.
What to do for fun
Use the student ID at AMC on thursdays for discount. Zumba!
Bang for the buck
Best priced university in the area. Except the online classes cost a lot more to take than the campus classes.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
I like attending the Riverpoint campus so I dont have to drive all the way to Cheney from Spokane. But only the business classes are downtown.
Great for these types of students
The business classes at riverpoint are good for people who work in the day, but it still requires some flexibility because the earlier classes start at 4.
Clubs and Activities
Not involved in any extra things yet.
Greek Life
Not involved
Campus Safety
I like the safety at the riverpoint campus The blus towers in the parking lots have cameras too.

rating eastern washington as a whole would be a tough question to ask just one student based on his or her experiences, however i would rate my experience a 9 out of 10. the transition phases that any student goes through are going to be extremely difficult, however eastern's experience in this phase have not been surpassed by any outside sources so far as i am familiar with.
Tips for prospective students
keep in mind that college is for learning. take advantage of any resources that may sneak you past a stumbling block in the road. tackle any challenges that may be presented in front of you. don't be afraid to put extra time in outside of the classroom, and outside of your normal social function. you may remember your friends, however they do not decide your career path. take advantage of every situation to put your self in the best place possible for future success.
Academic Rigor
the academic rigor that you will encounter will be the same for everybody. however your attitude and a effort is what you can measure, not the score presented in front of you. everything that you earn in life will be out of ones will to survive. keep that in mind when you glance around at your fellow students, and learn to point your nose in the right direction.
Dorm Life
never had the chance to experience dorm life, however i was fortunate enough to realize that this is a transition process from high school and that some of your closest friends may not be there for you because of other priorities. overall they enjoyed there experience and both graduated on time because of their decision to take on the added pressures of dorm life. join the dorms!
Food and Dining
the food and dining options available are built for the student, and how you choose is up to you. every type of food is offered in a healthy manner. having a choice is what they truly care about and keeping a balanced meal plan is what eastern offers their students.
What to do for fun
there are numerous activities involved with any institution. however i found that eastern catered to my liking with sports clubs. it is what you are into and you dont have to be a competitive person to have fun recreating. they have outdoor clubs for hiking and camping as well.
Bang for the buck
you get a plentiful amount of bang for your buck. eastern offers a huge step above any community college or trade school by offering programs and focused support for your particular wants and needs. however nothing is handed to you so you make any college special by the attitude and effort you bring to the table everyday. for the half price of attending a state school you wont be surprised at the amount of pleasure you will have by attending this school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
there are a number of religious institutions on campus that offer a sanctuary for higher learning. these meetings offer the student a well needed escape from the everyday rigors one would experience. this also creates a safe zone if nothing else is working for you.
Great for these types of students
this school is great for the person who loves to fit in and have fun with a great group of students. you will need to adapt on the run and make new friends along the way, don't be afraid to immediately branch out to break through any social barriers you might be accustomed to. outgoing people who love to flourish in any environment would be my top choice.
Clubs and Activities
there are numerous clubs from which to choose from it depends widely on your interest level and how you wish to apply that. if you are an avid fisher, then there are fishing clubs. if you love a ferociously active lifestyle then eastern offers running clubs. also if you love to dodge certain situations then maybe dodge ball intramurals would fit you like a glove.
Greek Life
the greek life is on a smaller scale to the state schools however you will be served with all of the makings for an at large bid when you decide to rush for this college. you will make more friends than you can count and you will have a fulfillinf experience to say the least.
Campus Safety
campus has security, and cheney has the police force that are constantly surveying the field for any troublmakers. if you still have a safety concern then you can take that up with your community advisor who is located on your dorm floor. he or she might be able to file reports, or consult with the your personal wants and needs.
