From its campus in the Berkeley Arts District, the California Jazz Conservatory is the only institution of higher education in the United States dedicated entirely to jazz. The conservatory offers a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies with instrumental and vocal concentrations. In addition, every student must pass a faculty jury evaluation at the conclusion of every year of the conservatory’s 4-year curriculum and all students are required to complete a senior performance project in order to graduate. The CJC campus is home to a 100-seat concert space where faculty and student ensembles perform throughout the year.
