Bryn Athyn is a small school, with a spiritual basis. The school is attempting to expand through athletics, but is still trying to retain their core values. The school is part of a very tight knit community

Come in with an open mind. You're going to learn a lot about a new religion, so it is important to have an open mind.

The classes are condensed into trimesters, so there is a lot of information to take in during a short time. Teachers do a good job of balancing work out for you so that you're not overwhelmed. On average you can expect 2 hours of outside work per hour of class work.

The freshman dorms, are decently sized for dorm living. However, they don't have fantastic amenities. Once you get to sophomore year and up the dorms are awesome!

Typical Dining Hall food. The meal plan is good though because you can go up as many times as you like, and you can take as much as you like with you. The only down side is that the 3 meal times that are set are one hour each, and on weekends you have to use the High School Dining hall.

There are sporting events almost every weekend. There is an outdoor volleyball court, and an completely redone social center, with enormous TV and surround sound, a pool table, and air hockey table. There is also a director of social life, so there are weekly events for students to attend, most are free of charge. Only trips cost money.

Great education for half the price of other schools in the area.

No Fraternities or Sororities

The type of people that go to this school, are generally pretty honest. Safety at school is fantastic, and security is always patrolling in the event that something happens.

Bryn Athyn College is a small, liberal arts institution that provides a strong academic education whilst incorporating the ideals of Emanuel Swedenborg. The faculty is superlative--willing to develop relationships with their students and provide aid at a moments notice. Ample opportunity is afforded too all, enabling every students' ability to chose their destiny.

If you are looking for a small school, one where you will have the ability to make friends, a name for yourself, and become involved, then Bryn Athyn College is the school for you. When I say small, I mean small. There are two hundred forty enrolled students, so make sure that that is an environment you will be willing to live in. However, just because we are small in numbers, does not mean we do not know how to have fun. We have division 3 athletic teams, consisting of players drafted from all over the country and we also have numerous organizations that host events, parties, and other fun activities.

Not many people would argue the fact that Bryn Athyn College is a difficult school. However, the classes are not like you might expect. Remember, there are only 240 enrolled students. With that many students, the classes tend to mostly by discussion based opposed to lecture based. This adds a whole different element to the classroom experience. Classes are engaging, funny, and entertaining. The teachers ask a lot, only because they want what is best for the students.

Dorm life is unique at Bryn Athyn College. All the dorms are close--within 300 yards from one another. They are also right on campus. Forget having to walk three blocks to get to your classes like you do in the city or having to walk a quarter mile like you would at a huge state university. At Bryn Athyn College, the dorms are all a two to four minute walk from one another and the college as well. The freshman dorms are alright, they are not state of the art like all the others, but they are fine nonetheless. The other facilities, for sophomores, juniors and seniors, are second to none. The sophomores and juniors all get suites, complete with a living room, dining room, and kitchen. The seniors get their own cottages. I'm talking real, full-blown cottages. Ah yes, one of the many benefits of going to a small college.

The food and dining experience at Bryn Athyn College is fairly good. All meals are cooked and prepared by Sodexo. There are two dining facilities: breakfast and lunch are prepared in one, dinner in the other. With the exception of prime rib, calamari, oysters on the half-shell, and sushi, one can find just about anything they want to eat. Overall, the food and dining is fine, just fine.

Bryn Athyn College really is what you make of it. There is opportunity to make any individual flourish. You just have to look. The deans, advisers, and faculty members are fully dedicated to making your collegiate experience unforgettable. I say, embrace what Bryn Athyn College has to offer. Trying to fight against the system and what not will only get you in trouble. Remember, Bryn Athyn College is a small campus. That can be a blessing and a curse. Everyone knows just about everyone. You can make that work for you or against you.

If you are the type of student who likes to be NOTICED, Bryn Athyn College is the right place for you. This is one of the greatest gifts Bryn Athyn College has to offer. Everyone knows you, whether it be your peers or the faculty members.
