Bowie State University is a small school with about 6,000 students. While mostly commuter, it serves those in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area and is easily accessible by public transportation. Most importantly, the campus is a tight-knit community where students and instructors alike feel like they are apart of an academic family.

It is a friendly, family environment type of school.They are a great help to students and wants students to reach their highest potential.The school's goal is to make it as comfortable and fun as possible to achieve your goals.They encourage students to be active on and off campus.Their space is limited for dorm rooms on campus but they provide other living accommodations.
