Lee Thornton Scholarship
Radio Television Digital News Association RTDNA
Lee Thornton was the first African-American woman to cover the White House for a major news network (CBS) and the first African-American host of All Things Considered on National Public Radio. Students who will be sophomores, juniors or seniors at the time the scholarship is awarded, pursuing careers in radio, television, or digital journalism are encouraged to apply. Students from the University of Maryland and Howard University will be given preference.
